I'm
Learn About Me
I am an Electrical Engineer from Bogota, Colombia, now living in Munich, Germany. I have more than ten years of international experience in industrial automation, system integration, testing and technical support, with customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
My focus is automation engineering: PLC programming, motion control, machine safety, industrial networks and digital twins. With a digital twin, I test the PLC program on a 3D model of the machine before the machine is built. This makes commissioning on site faster and safer.
I studied Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and I completed two postgraduate degrees at UPC BarcelonaTech in Barcelona: Industrial Communications and PLC, and SCADA and MES Systems. I worked at CRON Europe in Dusseldorf, and today I continue my career in Germany, as an Engineer. I speak Spanish (native) and English (B2, IELTS), and I am learning German.

What I do
PLC programs in Structured Text with clear state models, alarms and fault handling. Integration of machines, drives, sensors and safety devices from different suppliers.
3D models of machines and lines, connected to the real PLC program. The control is tested, and the customer can see the machine before it is built.
Equipment selection with real products, I/O lists and industrial networks like EtherCAT, PROFINET, CAN, IO-Link, OPC UA and MQTT.
Factory acceptance testing (FAT), automated tests, fault tests and commissioning checklists. Quality investigations with methods like CAPA, Six Sigma and TPM.
SCADA and MES systems that collect real-time production data, show the machine state and help to improve the process and the OEE.
Technical training, workshops and remote support for customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
My Resume
My Projects
3D simulation of machines and lines with real physics, connected to the real PLC code. The program can be tested and the line shown to the customer before the machine is built.
MorePLC programs in Structured Text: state models, step chains, alarms and fault handling. I also connect machines from other suppliers through their real signals.
MoreServo motors, stepper motors and frequency inverters, with positioning, homing and encoders, from the drive settings to the PLC program.
MoreSafety concepts with emergency stops, light curtains, safety laser scanners and guard locking, with safety logic and fault tests.
MoreEtherCAT, PROFINET, CANopen and IO-Link in the field, and OPC UA, MQTT and industrial Wi-Fi between machines, vehicles and supervisory systems.
MoreFrom the process design to the start-up: equipment selection with real products, I/O lists, automated tests and checklists for commissioning on site.
